Fashion, friendship, and leadership will converge at the Eight Annual Women’s Leadership Breakfast hosted by Women United. On November 12, 2024, style icon Elyce Arons, co-founder of Kate Spade and CEO of Frances Valentine, will share her journey of building global brands while juggling the demands of motherhood.

The 8:30 a.m. breakfast is more than just a celebration of women in leadership—it’s a call to action for all community members to create positive change by sharing their time, talent and treasure. This event provides a platform for more than 450 influential women, including C-level executives, business owners, and rising professionals, to connect, network, and support United Way of the Big Bend’s mission of improving lives through education, health, and financial stability initiatives.

Arons turned her passion for fashion into a global success story in 1993. She’s built a reputation for creating innovative yet timeless brands. Under her leadership, Frances Valentine has grown into a renowned brand while staying true to its joyful fashion values. Celebrated for her business acumen and dedication, Arons has balanced raising three daughters with her thriving career, crediting deep friendships, hard work, and a sense of humor as keys to her success.

“As Chair of Women United, I’m thrilled to welcome everyone to support this unique opportunity to celebrate and empower women and men in our community in the hopes that the inspiring message fosters a deep spirit of connection and collaboration to build a better future and a more resilient community for all,” says Dr. Andrea Friall, chair of Women United.

Men who support the contributions of women are also encouraged to attend, making this a fully inclusive event. The Women’s Leadership Breakfast offers a space for everyone to engage with the community’s most pressing issues and be a part of long-lasting solutions.

Beyond a morning of empowerment and community purpose this event helps drive impactful change in the capital city. “The Women’s Leadership Breakfast provides an opportunity to learn about Women United, an initiative of the United Way of the Big Bend and Women United which is aligned with our literacy initiatives,” said Berneice Cox, United Way of the Big Bend President and CEO.

A few sponsorship opportunities remain available for individuals and businesses who wish to support United Way’s community programs. Sponsors gain valuable visibility among a distinguished audience and contribute to meaningful change in the Big Bend area. For ticket information and to learn more, visit uwbb.org.
