This Is Me
Meet your new Associate Publisher

For those of you who don’t know me yet, I thought my first letter as Associate Publisher was the perfect time to introduce myself.
I’m Lori, and Tallahassee Magazine has been a big part of my life for more than two decades. I joined the magazine in 2005 as a Sales Representative, later became Sales Manager, and now, 21 years later, I’m incredibly excited to step into my new role as Associate Publisher.
But there’s a lot more to me than my title.
I have a handsome husband, Jon, and I’m the proud mom of three adult children: Jay, Deprise, and Camille. My favorite title, though, just might be Gigi to five beautiful grandchildren: Demi, Dustin, Ellie, Mason, and Marley. And then there’s Oliver, our sweet 5-pound Chihuahua who is convinced he is a Great Dane. I love working out, attempting to eat healthy, one-on-one time with good friends, date nights with my husband, and especially, a glass of red wine on a Friday night.
Like most people, I’ve seen my share of ups and downs, both personally and professionally. Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to meet and work with incredible people. They’ve taught me, challenged me, and helped shape the person I am today. I’ll carry those lessons and a lot of wonderful memories with me as I step into this next chapter.
I can’t imagine a better place for that chapter than Tallahassee.
I truly love this city. There’s something about that first hint of crisp air on a fall morning and those beautiful orange sunsets that can make Tallahassee look like a postcard. After all these years, I’m still proud of where I live, proud of the community we represent, and proud of the work we do at Tallahassee Magazine.
And yes, after 21 years, I can honestly say I still love my job. That makes this particular issue even more special.
Inside, you’ll find the results of our 2026 Best of Tallahassee readers’ poll. Year after year, our readers show up to support the businesses, people, and places they love, and it’s our privilege to celebrate this year’s winners.
One of my favorite parts of what I do is getting to know the people behind our local businesses. I get to hear their stories, learn what makes them special, and help them share who they are with our readers. After all these years, I still get excited when I see those stories and beautiful ads come together.
As for what comes next? We can never really know what the next chapter will bring, but I’m excited. I’m ready. And I’m incredibly grateful for the team I work alongside every day, our advertisers who continue to believe in what we do, and this community that has supported Tallahassee Magazine for so many years. I have a feeling it’s going to be a fun ride.
Ready, set, go: Let’s turn the page.
