Photographer captures Milky Way over St. Marks

Each year, there’s a short window when the core of the Milky Way is visible. Landscape and wildlife photographer Kyle Miller met up with a group of friends to see if they could capture this window in time. With the knowledge that Northwest Florida has some of the darkest night skies in the state, he envisioned the gleaming St. Marks Lighthouse as a contrast. A smattering of stars shone from the yellow, purple, and blue hues, and a meteor shower cascaded into the beautiful evening’s finale.  —Rebecca Padgett Frett
