Why Should Your Pet Win? We call Maddie our Wonder Dog because she is always up for a paddleboard adventure despite receiving the terrible diagnosis of advanced and inoperable liver cancer in May of 2022.
This brave little dog wakes up every morning with her tail wagging and giving lots of kisses to her family and cats. When asked if she wants to go for a ride, she starts to yelp and howl and runs out the dog door toward the car!
She loves hiking on Tallahasseeâs wooded trails, and her mom brings along her doggy backpack for when she gets tired. Her favorite thing is to go paddleboarding with her Mom and visit our beautiful Florida springs across the state. She even has her own hat and doggy life preserver, and she is so happy sitting at the front of the board, making friends with everyone she meets! She watches the fish and turtles through the clear water and will jump in for a swim.
Maddie also really loves St. George Island and still chases crabs and seagulls on the beach. Most of all, she loves her people, and we spoil her with her favorite foods like bacon and eggs for breakfast, and lots of treats.
We hope that Maddie the Wonder Dog will inspire others to keep going even when they don’t feel their best. Because life is a wonderful adventure, and we pray she has many more to come.
