16. Chip
Interesting story behind your pet’s name or nickname: He was found running through the road by a friend. I got called because I happen to have a chip reader for pets, which he didn’t have. We found his owners, but he didn’t know or respond to his name, so it seemed like he needed a new name for a new life, and Chip seemed perfect for him.

If adopted, how did you come to adopt your pet: Chip was found on the side of the road by a friend. We eventually realized he’d been living in a small outdoor kennel without much attention, but now he’s living on a huge piece of property where he can run and chase the birds and then come back inside for a cuddle on the couch.
Favorite food/treats: Pretty much anything, but especially my other dog’s food if he gets the chance.
Tell us about your pet’s personality: He’s a ball of pure energy or he’s the laziest puddle of fur. There’s not much in between.
What makes your pet happy: Running like a wild man.
What is unique about your pet: His side eye look has become famous.
Please tell us about any of your pet’s unusual characteristics or special talents: If you go for a three-mile walk, he’ll go for a 15-mile run doing huge circles around you the whole time. He’ll go full throttle for an hour.
Please share a heartwarming story: My friend was keeping Chip for me early on after I got him and her son said Chip makes you feel special even if he’s never met you before, and that’s pretty much the perfect way of describing Chip.
What makes your pet special to you or your family: My first dog, Otto, is now 15 and has been fighting cancer for a little over a year. Chip came along right before that diagnosis, but his dose of youthful energy and sheer joy turned out to be the perfect thing at the perfect time.
Why should your pet be Tally Top Pet: Chip is the most joyful and happy dog. He loves everyone and every pet he meets, and after spending his first year or so living cooped up outside, you can tell he just loves every second of his inside dog life with his outside roaming space.
