Charity: Cards for a Cure / Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
A blend of city sophistication and Southern charm, Steve channels his dueling personalities into his role as VP of Restaurants for Hunter + Harp Hospitality properties, including Hotel Duval, Alchemy, Midtown Filling Station, Level 8 and The Front Porch. A community hero, Steve rarely says “no” when asked to participate in a philanthropic endeavor.
Steve Adams is the VP of Restaurants for the various properties under the Hunter + Harp Hospitality umbrella, including Hotel Duval, The Front Porch, Level 8, Alchemy, Midtown Filling Station and the soon to open Recess. He sits on the board of the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association and has affiliations with the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce and sits on the board of the American Cancer Society.
From the nomination: “Steve is a hard-working, kindhearted man who has philanthropic endeavors throughout Tallahassee. He is a giving, fun-loving man with a lot to offer.”
Steve’s charities of choice are Cards for a Cure and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Cards for a Cure was created more than three years ago to make an impact on the Tallahassee community in hopes of discovering a day that the “C” word would mean “cure.” Each year, Cards for a Cure honors a woman in the community who has shown courage and valor in her fight against breast cancer. This event benefits the Tallahassee Memorial Cancer Center, its patients and programs. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a non-competitive 5K walk on October 20 at 1 pm. The event honors breast cancer survivors, raises awareness about ways to reduce breast cancer risk and raise money to help the American Cancer Society fight the disease.
