A Tail Wagging Good Time

Music, mimosas and barks were in the air at the Pets & Their People event on Saturday, March 21 benefitting the Leon County Humane Society.

Pets of all shapes, sizes and breeds frolicked and interacted as their owners sipped on brunch cocktails and listened to the sounds of local musicians from 9a.m. to 3 p.m. at Proctor Subaru.

Four-legged and two-legged friends visited sponsors and vendors that included Cole Couture, Lucky Goat, Aloft, Bruster’s, Pet Paradise, Lucy & Leo’s and the Council Of Cultural Arts. Humans munched on BBQ from Sonny’s and sipped mimosas and Bloody Mary’s from Madison Social. Those who didn’t partake of the libations were able to test drive the cars available at Proctor Subaru.

Throughout the day three local musical acts provided unprecedented talent and good vibes. Tyler Denning kicked off the day with his coastal soul sound, then Dallas Bowlin with his southern charm and finally the siblings of Jacob’s Ladder wrapped up the day with smooth jazz.

Pets put on their best smiles as they posed in front of the camera with their owners for a chance to be featured in the event recap in the July/August issue of Tallahassee Magazine.

This year’s event gave forever homes to a grand total of 15 dogs from LCHS, making this the most rewarding Pets & Their People to date! Dogs, cats and even a llama felt the love as the community came out to celebrate its furry friends.
