Dr. John Dozier earned his dental degree with honors at the University of Florida and has advanced training from the University of Kentucky. Dr. Dozier has also served 24 years as a Clinical Professor at the University of Florida Postdoctoral Program in Periodontics. He has been practicing for 36 years in Tallahassee, Florida.

When asked what the greatest pleasure that he has received from practicing dentistry, Dr. Dozier describes coming from “liking people”, his patients and staff. “The greatest payment that I have received is the appreciation that patients express for the dental care they receive. It really is a team effort!” says Dr. Dozier. “I could retire but I am having too much fun doing dentistry!”

Some of Dr. Dozier’s hobbies include golfing, hiking, kayaking and yardwork. His absolute favorite way to spend his free time is being with his three grandchildren. Dr. Dozier is also actively involved in the dental community. He has served as the president of Leon County Dental Association, the Northwest District Component of the Florida Dental Association and the Florida Association of Periodontists.

Each year Dr. Dozier participates, alongside Dr. Colón, Dr. Dozier, Dr. Barnett, Dr. Guzmán and Dr. Chon, in Dentistry from the Heart. On this day he enjoys providing free dental care alongside many other dentists to those in need in our community.

Fun fact – Dr. Dozier started his dental career teaching Endodontics at the University of Florida…it was at that time that he discovered his love for periodontics (the “foundation of the dentition”).
