The WhiteFence Farms, Red Hills 2006 Idea House & Farmstead showcases The St. Joe Company’s newest development concept. Teaming up with Southern Living and The Progressive Farmer, the developer has created a farmstead that combines the old and new.
Located just 15 minutes from downtown Tallahassee on six acres of land, the Farmstead’s rural setting features a five-acre natural pond and century-old oak trees. The house has two-stories and 3,320 square feet that incorporate four bedrooms and three and one-half baths. A detached building includes a three-car garage, kennel, mudroom with shower and office space. There is also a barn with a paddock that opens up to pastureland.
To get to the Idea House, take Apalachee Parkway east to Williams Road (that’s 4.2 miles past the Capital Circle intersection). Turn right and travel 1 mile to the community’s entrance on the right at 4200 Williams Road. The house is open through Oct. 1 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 per person (children under 12 free) with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Auxiliary. — Erica Bailey
