A Week with the Arts Set for January 25-29 in Quincy
Celebrates creative living and supports Gadsden Arts Center & Museum
Celebrate creative living with the Gadsden Arts Center & Museum on January 25 – 29, 2022. A Week with the Arts is jam-packed with creative tips from first-class talent in our area. Participate in events and presentations from home, invite a few friends to share a gourmet take-out meal, and view an incredible selection of regional artwork for sale at the annual Shop Till You Drop Art Auction.
Start the week by supporting Gadsden Arts and taking home your favorite piece from our Shop Till You Drop Art Auction. A Shop Till You Drop Pass will give you exclusive access to a beautiful selection of original art by artists in our own community. Stop by the Gadsden Arts Center & Museum to see all auction items in person, or view them online. All bidding will take place online.
Interested in exploring the world of creative living from the comfort of your own home? Look no further because a Go With the Flow Pass will grant you access to five virtual events and the Shop Till You Drop Art Auction. Presentations start with “Cheap Chic” by Joe Munroe on Tuesday, where he’ll show you how to collect and decorate on a budget. On Wednesday, “Reborn” by mother-daughter duo Kelly Pettit and Kira May will show you how to transform a thrift store find into a luxury purchase.
Have an evening cocktail with Curator Angie Barry and Executive Director Grace Robinson for a signature Curator’s Cocktail on Thursday, where the $500 People’s Choice Award winner from the art auction will be announced! On Friday, enter Alexander Hinson’s World of Camellias and learn from a master gardener how to properly care for your own camellias.
The Full Monty Pass includes access to all of the above and a gourmet take-out meal. On the menu from Black Fig is a filet mignon, mushroom risotto, asparagus with herbed butter, and salad, or a vegetarian option of couscous stuffed eggplant, haricot vert with lemon and hazelnuts, and a garbanzo bean, roasted red pepper and feta salad. Both options are served with dessert, and red wine, craft beer, or sparkling water. They can be picked up at Gadsden Arts or Black Fig.
On Saturday evening, Go with the Flow and Full Monty pass holders can enjoy the Gadsden Arts Game Show—with special art lovers’ prizes for those who earn the most points—and the Auction Finale. The week offers something for everyone, every day! Proceeds support Gadsden Arts programs in 2022.
