Dorothy Thomas, 27, was an employee of Nu Way Cleaners at 633 W. Tennessee St. Between 9 and 10 a.m. on Sept. 6, 1957, a deliveryman discovered her body in the bathroom. She was the lone employee at work, and evidence suggests a customer had been in the business just prior to her death. Thomas was apparently dragged from the front area of the business to the bathroom, where she was stabbed multiple times and died. Evidence obtained at the scene and a subsequent investigation focused on a particular person who remains the primary suspect and is currently living in another state.
