Event Details

1969 was an inspiring year for American space flight. While millions were watching fifty years ago, NASA completed the Apollo 11 mission in July and Apollo 12’s lunar trip in November. The following voyage in April 1970 again captured the attention of observers worldwide but for different reasons: NASA astronaut Jim Lovell called it a “successful failure.”

Join us to watch the dramatic events of Apollo 13’s mission unfold under the stars in the Capitol Courtyard. Enjoy free movie snacks and drinks. Bring lawn chairs or blankets, and picnics are welcome. Come early to secure your spot, enjoy activities, and experience The Moon, Stars, and Sunshine State. Museum opens for activities at 6:00 p.m. and the movie will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m.
