Since opening his doors as The Deli on November 1, 1972, Andy Reiss has served millions of plates of food on the forefront of everything from political history to personal milestones.

Andy has owned and operated The Deli (1972), the Brass Rail (1974), Andrew’s 2nd Act (1975), Maxin’s (1977), Tutto Bene (1979), Andrew’s Upstairs (1983), Andrew’s Capital Grill & Bar (1998) and Andrew’s 228 (2002) all in the same location.

It is fair to say that no other local business has become as much a part of the fabric of our community as Andrew’s Downtown. The historical and cultural significance of Andrew’s Downtown is impressive and unparalleled even statewide.

The restaurant played a host role in the 2000 President election and was even captured in all of the national media attention. Former President Bill Clinton played the saxophone at Andrew’s Upstairs to the delight of dozens of diners who had front row seats. Sports celebrities like Don Shula, Jim Brown, Dick Howser, Bobby Bowden, Martina Navratilova, Dave Cowens and NFL great “Fred” Biletnikoff and have all dined at Andy’s restaurants. Several entertainers like Scotty Barnhart of the Count Basie Orchestra and Marcus Roberts had their first gigs at Andrew’s Upstairs.

Andy has won several awards over his career including #1 Power Lunch in Florida from The Miami Herald, consecutive Golden Spoon Awards from Florida Trend, consecutive 5 Hats from the Tallahassee Democrat and many more.

Whether meeting friends after work or enjoying a night out with family, there’s always history happening at Andrew’s Grill & Bar.

Andrew's Grill & Bar is a great venue for birthday parties, bridal brunches, and office gatherings. Andrew's has a long tradition of hosting election parties. In fact, Andy and the staff believe that every candidate they have hosted fo election has gone on to win his or her election.

The "Fountain Room" holds up to 30-35 people.
