Model: Marianne Brooks
Marianne is a graduate of FSU, as is her husband, Darren Brooks, who is a professor at the FSU School of Business and also runs The Center for HR Management. Together, Marianne and Darren are raising three very active and dedicated children. Thomas, 19, attends FSU and competes for the FSU Men’s Gymnastics Club Team. Elizabeth, 15, attends Leon High School and dances in the Corps de Ballet for The Tallahassee Ballet. Jack, 13, attends Trinity Catholic and plays football.
Marianne is a fashion stylist for a clothing design company called “Cabi,” where she brings her style expertise to friends, family and women everywhere. Her mission is to “Make sure that every woman feels fabulous … both inside and out!” Marianne has been offering this service for the past eight years. She enjoys volunteering in the community and loves to cook, entertain and spend time with friends.
Marianne was diagnosed with Acute myeloid leukemia on July 7, 2015 and was in remission on September 9, 2015. She continued her treatment with a stem cell transplant on Oct 23, 2015. She was considered a “survivor” on Oct 23, 2016. Marianne will always have effects from AML, but she is here now! And she plans to she enjoys life to its fullest, because you never know when it could be taken away.
