The St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge will hold its 29th annual “Bring Back the Monarchs” Monarch Butterfly Festival Oct. 28. At this time of year, the regal butterflies, whose numbers are in sharp decline, pass through the area on their 2,000-mile migration from the U.S.–Canadian border to the mountains of central Mexico. It’s a beautiful, inspiring sight to witness, and everyone is invited.
Admission to the festival, held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., is free. For more information, please call (850) 925-6121 or visit fws.gov/refuge/st_marks.
